GoDB MEAP
The GoDB MEAP is the Gateway for any Mobile application to source data and to send back updates. GoDB Sync server is a web application that is installed on a Windows Server or J2EE APP server. The Smart sync engine uses the standard HTTP / HTTPS protocol to send requests to the MEAP server as web services. This ensures that the sync works thru all firewalls and proxies without the need for opening ports on the firewalls etc. The MEAP Server GUI lets developers add users, Groups, Define Files, Tables, Fields to download for each user/group/device etc.
Developers can define Vertical and Horizontal portioning of data based on user, group or device without a single line of code. It also enables developers to distribute codes to update application in the devices in a remote environment. GoDB MEAP server can be customized using server callbacks. Server callbacks are events that the sync server raises during the sync process. These are events like OnAfterLogin (), OnAfterFileReceived (). OnBeforeRowInsert (). The developers can write server side VB/Java scripts to handle these events and override or customize the default sync server behavior. These event handlers can be used for data transformation, data validation, auditing etc.
