ICICI Lombard is building a multi-product POS, where they can sell insurance policies without being connected to ICICI Lombard central server. ICICI Lombard will centrally manage the POS application.

GoDB is a multi-platform application development platform for developing handheld and disconnected applications. Key advantages of GoDB based applications are :

They are Platform Independent (Same applications work on all OS and devices) work without any form of connectivity to central server, which is a norm in other industry standard applications.

It can synchronise/integrate with any database at the central server.

Use of the appropriate and cost-effective technology in the right areas of operation shall enable us to offer superior, effective and efficient and services to our customer and shall render us with a greater reach. Increasingly, the challenges are going to be in distribution and we feel a good technology infrastructure will be the backbone to attempt anything in this area. At an appropriate time we are also looking at M-powering our sales force with mobile applications using GoDB".
